shopping again

Pinky yawned. It was predicted to be only 82 degrees today. Now was the time to go shopping, before it got hot outside, again. Pinky jumped up and trotted into the kitchen. Mattie was listlessly stirring some concoction, and daydreaming.
Pinky:"What are you cooking, You?"
Mattie:"Huh? Oh, I am making squash cakes. You know...peel the squash, cut up green onions, put in flour, oil, milk, salt, parsley. Then fry, in olive oil, or corn oil! Kind of boring I know, but it's so hot!"
Pinky:"No, I loves dat stuff. Can't get enough. Are you going to make them now?"
Mattie:"No, for dinner. You can make it ahead of time, and put it in the fridge. I plan to do that!"
Pinky:"So you will be done soon!"
Mattie yawned. "Yes. I can't wait to take a nap. I plan to plant myself in front of the big fan, and sleep all day."
Pinky:"I need a shopping partner!"
Mattie frowned. "No, Pinky. Sorry but NO! I am too tired. I work all morning, work my paws to the bone, and then I need rest. No shopping. No activity. N and O! NO!"
Pinky:"Geez, Mattie. I get it!"
Pinky marched out of the kitchen in a huff. Honestly. Poor Pitiful Pinky with no Purchasing Partner.
Pinky went to find Granny Fu.
Pinky:"Granny Fu. Are you sick?"
Granny sighed. "I am hot! Why is it so hot? I don't remember summer being so hot, before this one. I am hot and sweaty and tired and I need to go to sleep, in a hammock. Ugh!"
Pinky *wheedling* "It's cool at the mall!"
Granny:"Oh good heavens. Not the Mall. Not today. Oh Pinky. It would be crowded and icky. And lots of screaming chicks. No. I can't stand the thought!"
Pinky plopped down on Granny's fainting couch. "Well I guess I should just lay here all day and do nothing!"
Granny:"Oh Pinky. Don't be so spoiled. Just GO. If you want to shop, just go shop!"
Pinky frowned. Everyone was not in a good mood. She considered calling Indra, but decided against it. At this rate, Indra would yell at her for calling.
Pinky grabbed her purse, did not EVEN say goodbye to anyone and marched out in a huff to shop.
She drove to the mall at 4aGerman, negotiating some heavy traffic to arrive there. Oh no. The Mall was as Granny said it would be. Mothers with baby birds everywhere, and all the babies were howling for toys. Ugh.
Pinky ran into the first store she saw, and bought a pair of size large parrot Jeans. Big and ugly jeans. Not cute jeans at all. 20 dollar jeans, with no class. Big and baggy jeans. Still in the winter, they would be fine, when she had gained some weight. A snotty clerk rang them up and acted like Pinky was daft to buy such big, ugly, badly designed jeans.
Then Pinky bought three pink sweaters, 4 pair of pink sox, and a black pair of parrot gaucho pants, with rhinestones(purchased from another clerk, of course-so there little Miss Snottysnout!). Very stylish clothing for little PinkyPie. Then she bought a black cocktail dress, for the fall cocktail parties she might attend, when her Prince Charming did finally show up someday. Finally Pinky bought a big leather Parrot Purse, for fall. The purse was brown leather-of a hobo design, with tooled leaves on the strap. Ooh Ahh!
Pinky decided that the trip was no fun and headed home. She stopped at the ice cream shop and ate a banana split, just to get even with everyone for ignoring her. She burped banana breath all the way home.
When she arrived home she dropped all her goodies in the closet in her office, after entering the shop by the back door. She would sneak them into the house under cover of darkness. Pinky flipped on the window A/C unit, and fell asleep on the couch. Her dogs were barking and she needed a nap. She set her alarm so as not to miss the squash cakes for dinner. As she drifted off to slumberland, she realized why she never went shopping alone. It was way too expensive.
